Our Fees Explained

Lifetime/Strategic Planning

“When can I afford to retire?” “What if I run out of money?” “How much might I need?”

We can help you to find the answers to these and other, similar, questions when we create a strategic action plan for you.

We start with your current financial position and use our expertise and knowledge of financial products and taxation to map a financial path that will help you to achieve your goals.

This may be a straightforward action plan covering just one financial area, or it could encompass a full and comprehensive review of all of your finances, using cashflow modelling forecasts to determine your course of action. The choice is yours.

Either way, creating a bespoke financial plan and strategy for you will enable you to clearly see what needs to be done next - and why.

Once completed, it is entirely your choice as to whether you wish to implement any or all of the ideas contained within your plan.

Implementation/Investments

Poor implementation can often undo all the hard work that went in to constructing your plan, which is why we take pride in arranging your investments correctly and on time.

We will check to ensure that the asset allocation accurately reflects your risk profile and timescale, and that any income or capital growth requirements can be adequately met. Your understanding and acceptance of the right level of risk for your circumstances is a vital part in creating peace of mind for the future, and we place great emphasis on this aspect of investing.

We also take care of any administration, taxation issues and trusts that may be needed when setting up your policies and/or investments, and take full responsibility for the accurate implementation of the advice you have been given.

If we have arranged investments for you on a purely fee basis, then all commissions (if payable) are rebated in full – either directly back to you, to enhance the investment or to be offset against fees.

Considering all investments
Our philosophy states that a sound investment strategy must support your overall objectives. You will benefit from a broadly based approach that considers all appropriate investments and asset classes, including commercial and residential property, shares, institutional managed investments, and even your own business.

Research and analysis
We use research from Lipper, Standard & Poors, Citywire, Defaqto, Morningstar, and Financial Express. This high quality research enables us to be confident that you are on the right road to achieving your goals as quickly as possible. However, we also do our own due diligence for one-off investments, and if you come across an interesting opportunity we will be happy to investigate it for you.

Keeping Track
The computer systems we use to model scenarios and track investments are the best in the industry. It is only by using the power of this technology that we can add value to you and help to keep your objectives on track.

Managing your investments
You know how important it is for your money to work for you. That’s why we manage it using a scientific process that has stood the test of time. Even though your goals may change, or markets may change, our commonsense approach to investing allows that flexibility.

Reducing costs
Wherever possible we use institutional investments to reduce the cost to you, and also use our knowledge of the insurance and investment industry to obtain the best deals available.

Unique opportunities
We sometimes come across unique investment opportunities that are not readily available to the individual investor. Appropriate use of such investments can add value to your investment strategy, not only increasing your wealth but providing more choices and diversity.

Working for you
Wood Financial Consultancy is not owned by any institution, so our advice is not tainted by conflicts of interest. Our strategies consider all and any options that may improve your financial security and improve your lifestyle. We only work for you

A detailed review meeting will be held either once or twice a year to ensure you are on track. Interim reviews can also be conducted throughout the year as and when required.

Making ourselves available
You will have continual access to advice – by telephone or email, a chat over coffee, or a formal meeting. Knowing that you have ready access to your adviser ensures that every opportunity can be considered in a timely manner. You may ask us to undertake additional work for you at any time, and a fee will be agreed with you before any work commences.

Keeping you up to speed
We like to keep you aware of the latest thinking, ideas and opportunities that exist within financial services by way of our regular client wealth magazine. We aim to support you with the best service throughout the year and your file will be kept regularly updated to ensure that all your queries are addressed promptly and efficiently.

New developments
Alterations and amendments to legislation create opportunities and threats that need to be investigated on your behalf. We keep such changes under constant review and the results of this work are incorporated at each of your reviews throughout the year.
